The Ivy Girl of Kent is a traditional straw piece that depicts the primitive image of the earth goddess in Britain. Made by an anonymous contemporary artist, this piece is an example of a female fertility figure made to resemble the shape of a stack of wheat in the fields. Moisson de la Marieé which translates to Bride of the Harvest, in English, is a Northern French design reputed to be very old. Created by Elvira Robin in 1991 it is considered a type of blessing for the home.
